Terms & Conditions
These terms cover every repair booking made with TAR — The Appliance Repairs, whether online, by phone, by email or on WhatsApp.

1. Who we are
TAR — The Appliance Repairs provides domestic appliance repair services across London, Kent and Surrey. You can reach the office on 020 3691 1116 or at info@theappliancerepairs.co.uk.
By booking a repair you agree to these terms. If you are booking on behalf of a landlord, tenant or managing agent, you confirm you are authorised to instruct work on the property.
2. Booking and appointments
Bookings are confirmed once we have your name, contact number, address, the appliance and the fault. We confirm your appointment slot by phone, text or email.
Arrival windows are estimates. Traffic, weather and earlier jobs can move an engineer's arrival, and we will contact you if we are running significantly late. Someone aged 18 or over must be present to give access.
3. Fixed labour charge
Our standard fixed labour charge is £78 per appliance visit. Dishwashers, range cookers, fridges, freezers and fridge freezers carry a £90 fixed labour charge.
Same-day or next-day appointments carry a £25 surcharge and emergency call-outs a £45 surcharge, where availability allows. Any surcharge is shown before you confirm the booking.
The labour charge covers attendance, diagnosis and the work carried out during that visit. It does not include parts, which are quoted separately and only fitted with your approval.
4. Parts and additional work
Where a part is required we provide the price, any delivery time and the expected total before ordering or fitting. No part is ordered or fitted without your approval.
If you decline a part, the labour charge for the attendance remains payable, because the diagnosis has already been carried out.
Where the same appliance needs a return visit for a part already approved, no extra labour charge applies.
5. Payment
Payment is due on completion of the repair unless agreed in writing beforehand. We accept card and bank transfer, and provide a receipt for every job.
For managed and commercial accounts, payment terms are confirmed at the time the account is opened.
6. Cancellations and access
You may cancel or reschedule free of charge up to 24 hours before your appointment slot. Cancellations within 24 hours, or an aborted visit because no one is present or access is refused, may incur the labour charge.
Please clear the area around the appliance and, where relevant, make sure the water and power can be isolated safely.
7. Guarantee
Parts we supply and fit are covered for 12 months, and our labour on the repaired fault is covered for the same period. Full details are on our Guarantee page.
The guarantee does not cover a new or unrelated fault, accidental damage, misuse, or work carried out by another party after our visit.
8. Our liability
We carry out repairs with reasonable skill and care. Our liability for any claim is limited to the cost of the repair concerned, except where the law does not allow that limitation, including liability for death, personal injury or fraud.
We are not liable for pre-existing faults, appliance wear unrelated to the reported fault, or loss of food or business caused by an appliance failure.
9. Your rights
These terms do not affect your statutory rights as a consumer under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. If something is not right, contact the office first and we will work to resolve it quickly.
10. Complaints and governing law
If you are unhappy with any part of the service, contact us on 020 3691 1116 or at info@theappliancerepairs.co.uk with your job reference. We aim to respond within two working days and resolve complaints within 14 days.
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute.
